Flora of Ironwood Canyon Area, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
Introduction This checklist is made from Fred Melgert and Carla Hoegen's plant list for Ironwood Canyon to Diablo Wash; vouchers; iNat observations; a survey of Vallecito Wash in this area on 18 November 2018 by Tom Chester, Nancy Accola, Birgit Knorr, and Don Rideout; and a survey of the lowermost part of the Ironwood Wash area on 25 November 2018 by Tom Chester, Nancy Accola, Kate Harper, Birgit Knorr, and Don Rideout.
Checklist for Ironwood Canyon Area See:
- Notes on the Scientific Names Used At This Site and
- Information about the links from the Scientific Name and Common Name.
An asterisk before the common name indicates a non-native species.
The column with header Famil is the first five letters of the Family Name.
The column with label BW
links to the photo gallery page for each species at Fred Melgert and Carla Hoegen's BorregoWildflowers site.
The column with label #Pls gives the minimum number of plants found in the union of both field surveys, up to a maximum of 99 plants. Note that if more area was surveyed, the numbers would increase for most species not already at the maximum. For example, we saw a total of just 14 Ironwood trees in the surveys, but there are over 100 trees in the entire Ironwood Canyon area. If sometime in the future we survey that entire area, the number will become 99.
If that column contains FC, it was observed by Fred and Carla without an abundance estimate. If that column contains V, there is a voucher of that species, and neither we nor Fred and Carla have seen that species in our surveys.
Version for printing, without lines and other text on this page: html (4 pages) or pdf Clickbook booklet (1 double-sided page). (See printing instructions for an explanation of these options)
