Encelia actoni and E. virginensis Leaf Variation
The leaves of Encelia actoni shown here were selected by scanning the iNat Photo Browser for that species. For some reason, good in-focus close-up photos of the leaves for that species are uncommon. I had to scan quite a few pages of pix to come up with the nine photos on this page.
I did make sure that selected photos were from areas where only E. actoni was found.
The leaves of E. virginensis shown here were selected by scanning through iNat obs of specific areas where only that species was found, since the iNat Photo Browser of that species includes photos of other species misdetermined as E. virginensis.
No other selection criterion was used to pick the photos.
The photos of each species are arranged in rough order from greenish at the top to grayish at the bottom.
