Plant Species of the Borrego Desert: Fabaceae:
Parkinsonia florida, Blue Palo VerdeThe geographic distribution in the Borrego Desert Area is shown in Fig. 1, from our GPS survey points and from iNat observations with good locations. Fig. 2 shows how those points are distributed, using the Jepson clustering algorithm. Many of the locations in the populated area of Borrego Springs, Agua Caliente County Park, Canebrake, and Ocotillo are probably planted specimens. Note that Palo Verde Canyon is well-named, accounting for the line of locations in the upper right portion of the map within San Diego County.
