Flora of Ramona Trail Area, Garner Valley, San Jacinto Mountains This is a flora of the Ramona Trail and the immediately-surrounding area south of Highway 74 near the trailhead. It was compiled from two surveys of the trail, on 25 April 2014 and on 3 April 2018, as well as from vouchers.
Part of this area was intentionally burned in 2013, which resulted in beautiful fields of wildflowers. Fire followers that only appeared post burn are not yet in this flora. For photographs of the wildflower displays in May 2024, see Pictures of the post-burn Ramona Trail in 2024.
The following gives some basic information about this checklist.
See:
- Notes on the Scientific Names Used At This Site and
- Information about the links from the Scientific Name and Common Name.
An asterisk before the common name indicates a non-native species.
The column labeled #Pls gives a minimum estimate of the number of plants in this area, up to a maximum of 99 plants, for species seen in the field surveys for which abundances were noted. If the column contains V, we did not observe the species but it was vouchered from this area. If there is a ~ or ? accompanying the number, the species is uncertain.
