Pictures From Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail, San Jacinto Mountains, 22 May 2009 These are some of the pictures I took on a trip on the Ernie Maxwell Trail on 22 May 2009, showing some of the plants in bloom that day. Since I was primarily botanizing the trail and working on species determinations for some species, I did not photograph all of the plants in bloom. California elegant rock-cress, Arabis sparsiflora var. californica. Note the two rows of seeds in each fruit, indicated by the bulges occurring only on the left or right half. Compare these fruit to the fruit of A. holboellii in the next picture, which has only one row of seeds in each fruit, indicated by the bulges extending across the entire fruit width.
