Plant Checklist for Onyx Summit Area, San Bernardino Mountains
Introduction This checklist gives the flora of the Onyx Peak Area, from our observations along the PCT in the segment south of Onyx Pass, from Coon Creek Jumpoff and north, and the segment north of Onyx Pass ending at 2N04. It also includes vouchers from the area just south of Onyx Summit north to roughly 2N04, from 34.19 to 34.23° latitude and -116.76 to -116.70° longitude, as well as vouchers from the area from Coon Creek to Onyx Summit, from 34.16 to 34.19° latitude, and -116.72 to -116.70° longitude. Some species known only from Juniper Spring have been omitted.
Checklist See:
- Notes on the Scientific Names Used At This Site and
- Information about the order in which the species are presented, and the links from the Scientific Name and Common Name.
An asterisk (*) before the common name indicates a non-native taxon.
The column #V gives the number of vouchers found in the two areas searched for vouchers, truncated at a maximum number of nine.
The column #Pls gives the estimated minimum number of plants for the segment of the PCT from Onyx Summit to 2N04. Only that section is given here, since this version was optimized for future fieldwork on that section. One species, Fritillaria pinetorum, has only an x in this column since it was only seen in a previous survey of that section when no abundance estimate was made.
Species with no entry in either column were found on the PCT section from Coon Creek Jumpoff to Onyx Summit.
Version for printing, without lines and other text on this page: html (8 pages) or pdf Clickbook booklet (2 double-sided pages). (See printing instructions for an explanation of these options)
