Identification status: unknown species.

Grand Canyon Nativity:

First occurrence on Bright Angel Trail: mile 2.20, elevation 5300 feet (1615 m).
Number of plants along Trail: Only this single cluster of plants were found in a single location in September 2007.


From 6 September 2007, mile 2.20:

Note the clasping leaves above; Comandra umbellata ssp. pallida (Santalaceae family) has sessile leaves, not clasping.
