The $47,000 electronic marquee was installed on top of a 20' pole in October 1997, paid for by special one-time funding from the state. FUHS hopes to recoup the cost by selling advertising space.
The sign was created by Advanced Safety Products, a Fallbrook company which specializes in high-tech signs. The sign is 60" x 102" with 24 vertical and 48 horizontal rows of pixels. The pixels contain 5 red and 8 green diodes, which can thus be lit in either red, green or amber.
