Alternative High Schools

The High School District has two alternative schools: Oasis, a continuation school, and Ivy, an independent school, both of which allow students to do most of their work at home.

Oasis is the district's school for independent study.

Ivy has a 124-student maximum enrollment. According to Pedro Garcia, a 1997 graduate of Ivy, the Ivy students get a lot of one-on-one help from their instructors. The small enrollment removes a lot of conflicts present with a larger student population. Pedro said that the students are very accepting of others, and "don't laugh or make anyone feel bad when they ask questions in class". Another graduate, Ana Martinez, praised the "family feeling" at Ivy.

Ivy's three-building campus is next to FUHS.
