Survey dates: 2012: 5/6, 5/17, 5/24, 6/17, with species found on surveys in prior years with ^.

102 species observed.

This section of the trail passes though some private land as it goes up and over Onyx Summit pass. A number of rare and endemic plants begin to show up, but a few like Hulsea vestita ssp. parryi and Gilia leptantha ssp. leptantha will drop out after this section. The trail continues on through granite and a number of different metamorphic rocks, as well as a postage-stamp-size meadow that contains a number of rare plants that show up in very wet years.
